The Wolper Law Firm is currently investigating claims against Suhail Khan, a former Financial Advisor at LPL Financial, LLC in Chicago, Illinois. Suhail Khan has been in the securities industry since the 1990’s and previously worked for Vision and U.S. Financial Investments.
According to publicly available records released by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), on May 25, 2018, a customer filed a complaint against Suhail Khan alleging that “the advisor recommended unsuitable speculative investments in the advisor’s own business, a hedge fund, oil and gas partnerships and a real estate investment trust.” The alleged damages are $775,000 and the matter remains pending.
The customer complaint follows a 2017 sanction by FINRA for failing to respond to a request for information regarding Suhail Khan’s sales practices. At present, Suhail Khan is indefinitely suspended from associating with any broker dealer.
Financial advisors have a legal and regulatory obligation to recommend only suitable investments that are appropriate for their clients’ needs and objectives.
